Saratoga Springs: Protest of Republican attacks on Social Security

Date : 20 August 2010       From : 5:00pm    iCal Google Calendar
Category : Economics / Poverty Location : 12866

Event Description :
"Protest Boehner/Gibson Republican Attacks on Social Security"

A group of demonstrators will be gathering outside a fundraiser for Republican challenger Chris Gibson, and headlined by House Minority Leader John Boehner. The protest will be against the role that both politicians are playing in reinforcing corporate control of democracy.

From the organizers: "We will ask both Gibson and Boehner to explain why they care more about the needs of corporate lobbyists than their constituents. Our message to both Boehner and Gibson is simple: 'Stop threatening to cut Social Security, stop giving tax breaks to millionaires, and stop favoring Wall Street over the needs of the people. Please join us! Please pass this on to your friends & contacts!"
