New Paltz: "Defend Democracy Street Rally"

Event Description :
A special version of the regular Women in Black peace vigil occurring every Saturday, protesting the recent Supreme Court decision (Citizen's United v FEC) allowing corporations unlimited spending to influence US elections. President Obama said he "could think of nothing more devastating to the public interest" and called it "a big win for special interests at the expense of the people."

There will be signs available, or participants can make their own. There will be street theater and musicians, and the event will be videotaped and posted on YouTube to draw attention to the issue.
